What is resin bound stone?

Natural aggregate stone hand-mixed with a UV-stable polyurethane resin and trowelled into a smooth, seamless, permeable surface. It looks like premium natural stone but performs like a modern engineered material.

How is it different from resin bonded?

Resin bonded scatters loose stone over a tacky resin layer — it's not permeable and stones come loose. Resin bound is fully encapsulated, permeable, and far more durable. We only install resin bound.

Can you really install over my existing concrete?

Yes — our most popular install is a 1/2 inch resin bound overlay on sound existing concrete or asphalt. No demolition, finished in a single day for most residential driveways.

Will it crack?

Is it slippery when wet?

Less slippery than wet concrete. The aggregate creates a textured grip, and the surface drains instantly — there's far less standing water to slip on.

How does it handle Ontario winters and road salt?

Excellent. Permeable so meltwater drains away (less ice), and the resin and aggregate are unaffected by road salt and freeze/thaw cycles. No spalling, no flaking. Plow with a plastic blade or rubber-edged plow.
